Chief Justice Hennessey
The Chief Justice Edward F. Hennessey Internship Fund
The Hennessey Internship Fund offers a small stipend to students who intern full time with MHLAC. As interns, students have the opportunity to work on important issues in mental health law. For more information on applying for an internship, go to the Internships page.
The Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee first established the Hennessey Fellowship at its 35th anniversary celebration at the Supreme Judicial Court in 2008. The Hennessey Fellowship was created to honor the former Chief Justice and perpetuate the memory of his many contributions to protect the due process rights of all citizens, including those involved with the mental health system.
In December 2012, MHLAC converted the Hennessey Summer Fellowship into the Hennessey Summer Internship Fund to offer multiple students the opportunity to intern with MHLAC during the summer. As interns, students have the opportunity to work on issues involving the fields of public interest and mental health law.
