The Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee conducts educational conferences each year on topics of mental health for attorneys, advocates, and other professionals of all levels of experience. Our conferences focus on representing persons with mental health challenges in legal settings while addressing topics such as medication, access to health care and treatment, stigma and community resources. Event presenters and participants are people with lived experience and experts in the mental health field from hospitals, academic institutions, state agencies, legal services and peer support services; as well as the community-at-large.

Continuing Education Credits

Typically, MHLAC conferences are approved for continuing legal education credits for the Mental Health Law Division and the Children and Family Law Unit of the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS). Credits may also be available for social workers and licensed mental health clinicians. Credit information is provided when registration for a conference opens. You can contact Laís Teixeira at lteixeira@mhlac.org or 617-338-2345 x121 with any questions.
