Free Legal Clinic every Tuesday from 11am-3pm in Springfield, MA by appointment only. The assistance levels may include information and referral, brief advocacy or full representation. The clinic is currently only covering the following issue areas:

  • English Language Learner (ELL) students who are forced to choose between language services and special education services.
  • Parents who do not receive educational documents in their primary language.
  • Children with mental or behavioral needs who have been unfairly suspended or expelled from school.
  • Parents involved with DCF who are not receiving disability accommodations.
  • A 51A or DCF case was filed against you after you were either denied voluntary services, you were told your case was ready to close or you refused to sign a release to allow DCF to talk to your providers.

How to request an appointment: Individuals who meet any of the listed issue areas can call and leave a message at 617-391-9712 or email legalclinic@mhlac.org. An advocate will reach out to schedule an appointment, if you cannot attend between 11am-3pm, flexible remote or home visit options may be coordinated.
