This is the Take Action page for bills H.2694 (An Act to Promote Equitable Access to Parole) and S.1728 (An Act to Reform Parole Supervision in the Interest of Justice).
Latest Updates (10/28/25):
Hello friends and supporters of H.2694 and S.1728,
Both of these bills have now had hearings before the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security. The Equitable Access to Parole bill was heard on June 26, 2025, while the Parole Supervision bill was heard on October 15, 2025. The House deadline to report bills out of committee is sixty days after hearing – but at this juncture, both bills appear to be alive and well and still in committee. That said, the sooner you act, the better.
What we need now is calls and emails to the chairs and committee members!
Please reach out to any and all members of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee, and in particular the chairs, Senator John Cronin (Worcester and Middlesex) and Representative Daniel Cahill (10th Essex), as they have the greatest influence in determining what is voted favorably out of committee.
Senate chair: John.Cronin@masenate.gov (617-722-1230)
House chair: Daniel.Cahill@mahouse.gov (617-722-2020)
Senate vice chair: William.Driscoll@masenate.gov (617-722-1643)

If you happen to be a constituent of any of the relevant legislators, PLEASE mention that (and include your address) in your email or call to their office – they always want to hear from constituents.
If you don’t know who your state legislators are, you can find out here.
If you have community/family members or other interested individuals who are working on parole or prison reform issues, please ask them to also make calls or send emails. Feel free to reference each bill’s fact sheet (Equitable Access to Parole and Parole Supervision), which you can use for talking points when contacting legislators.
Thank you all so much for your support and efforts on these two critically important bills. Act now so we can make this the year to get these reforms passed!
Do you have further questions?
If you need more assistance, please reach out to M. Claire Masinton. She can help you locate your legislators and send you some talking points and/or suggestions.
